Clare Valley Events
A special event? Need larger group of friends to celebrate?
With only three guest rooms, it is a case of first in best dressed, but if you have a larger group wanting to celebrate, we are able to make suggestions for other accommodation close by, and then have the entire group dine at Thorn Park. With a limit of ten guests in total, we are happy have everyone together for dinner and breakfast.

Intimate Cooking Schools
We have been hosting cooking schools forever! Maybe it’s all the reality TV cooking shows, but everyone loves to play in the kitchen. At Thorn Park by the vines, David has developed laid back fun classes for our guests. They can be taken over one or two days and are available for groups of two to six house guests staying for two nights. The classes are a combination of hands on and demonstration and are held in the stunning new kitchen with views over the gum studded property. David devises programs based on his love of fresh ingredients and quality produce. The classes include both formal and casual menus. He draws on his and Michael’s travels to Europe, Turkey and Asia, and the influence that these countries have had on his cooking style. The cost of these classes will be an additional $95.00 per person for one day classes and $150.00 per person for the two day class, and is in addition to the two day accommodation package. Wines will also be included with some meals during the cooking schools.

Clare Show Weekend
October 12 & 13 2012
Everyone loves a country show! The Clare Agricultural and Horticultural Show is the largest one–day show in South Australia, featuring sideshows, wood chopping, horses, bands, shearing and wine tasting and sales.

The show offers something different, with helicopter rides, dog jumping and model train displays. You will be entertained throughout the day by the Clare Valley Concert Band, Buskers, Sarah the Stilts Girl and many others. The day culminates in a fireworks display at 8pm.

A New Year’s Eve to remember
December 30 & 31 2012
Celebrate New Year’s Eve in style; the perfect venue for a few nights of fine food, fun and frivolity. Party hats and glamour clothes! Our New Year package includes two nights’ accommodation, casual dinner on first night followed by a sensational New Year’s Eve Dinner and brunch on New Year’s morning.

Cost:$595.00– $650.00 per person, double/twin share – wines included.

January long weekend
January 25 – 28 2013
Need time to recover from the Christmas holidays? Clare Valley is the perfect place to relax .Fresh summer menus and crisp wines, what more can one ask for! Three nights’ accommodation, dinner & breakfasts.

Cost from $ 750.00 – $825.00 per person, including dinners & breakfasts.

Shakespeare on the lawns
February 14 — 18 (two packages)
The Lawns at Sevenhill Cellars
Join us for the Essential Theatre Company’s sunset performance of Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night” on the lawns at Sevenhill Cellars. We have arranged for our guests to join in the fun, with tickets to the performance, followed by refreshments and supper back at Thorn Park after the performance. The package includes two nights’ accommodation, dinner both nights & breakfast both mornings. Please note that the first package is Thursday & Friday nights, and the second is Saturday and Sunday nights.

Cost $625.00 per person, double/twin share.

Bundaleer Festival weekend
March 22 to 24 2013
This will be the seventh Bundaleer weekend and promises to be as exciting as the previous festivals. Set in Australia’s oldest plantation forest, the weekend’s highlight is the Saturday twilight concert with the Adelaide Art Orchestra under the baton of Timothy Sexton and tenor Rosario La Spina. The package includes meals and accommodation as well as weekend passes to Bundaleer.

The days will be crisp in the Clare Valley, and the last of the autumn leaves will be dropping from the grape vines, but Thorn Park by the vine’s huge central fire place will ensure that you are snug and warm.

School holidays on Kangaroo Island
Thorn Park on the island offers the perfect destination for families to spend time together. The house is available for a minimum one week booking (Friday to Friday) during the school holiday seasons. With the safe swimming beach below the house, local restaurants, hotel, shops, and even a wine cellar door in the village of Penneshaw, Thorn Park on the island makes for a relaxing holiday.
