Thorn Park Country House prefers to tailor make an event to suit the occasion. The information in this site should be seen as a guide and a starting point in the planning of your celebrations. The property is available as a whole, and bookings include the use of all the accommodation and facilities.

Thorn Park Country House prepares and individual proposal for each function or Wedding reception. This information sheet is to be used as a guide only and should not be taken as a firm quotation. Prices are only indicative of what we can provide. We prefer to hold informal discussions to ascertain your individual needs and requirements, then develop an individual proposal for you!

Thorn Park Country House is able to help you with the names of suppliers of flowers, napery, special marriage celebrants, musicians and photographers. You are able to do as much as you like or leave all of the work to us. Let us know what you require and we will do our best to provide one of the most memorable occasions of your lives.

FACILITIES LIST

Thorn Park Country House consists of three buildings. The Main Homestead contains three guests rooms, kitchen & breakfast room, drawing room, library and two dining rooms. The smaller Coach House building houses two guest rooms. The Barn completes the buildings and consists of one guest suite containing sitting room and bedroom, the offices, commercial kitchen and the Function area.

THE HOMESTEAD:

Dining areas

Main Formal Dining room will seat 12
Small dining room will seat 4
Breakfast room seats 12

Bedrooms

All have private bathrooms with heated towel rails, hair dryers etc.
The bedrooms are centrally heated and have individually operated reverse cycle air conditioning. They have bedside lamps, electric blankets and have an arm chair.
2 x double rooms - queen size beds
1 x two bedroom suite - both double beds

THE COACH HOUSE:

Two individual bedrooms (both have private bathrooms), they are heated and have revers cycle air conditioning, tea and coffee making facilities, TV & Video.

Both rooms have king size beds and both can be made into twin rooms.

THE BARN ACCOMMODATION:

Small "suite" with 1 x double room, with king size bed (can be twinned), ensuite bathroom with heated towel rail and small dressing room, a small kitchen with refrigerator, hot plates, microwave oven. The sitting room has Hi-Fi system, TV, sofa bed and several arm chairs. The Barn also has reverse cycle air conditioning and heating.

THE BARN FUNCTION AREA:

Main room 9.5m x 11.5m, underfloor heating and air-conditioning.
Capacity: 84 at round tables. 120 at theatre style seating. 125-150 cocktail party.
 
Terrace area 4.5m x 15m, radiant heating, air conditioning from main room
Capacity: 36 at round tables. 80 cocktail party.

 

Table sizes: 1.8m,1.5m & 1.2m round tables (seat 10, 8 or 6)
Large board tables to seat up to 24 available (3m x 1.5m)
Seating: 50 forged iron and wicker chairs, 60 padded, folding chairs, 24 white PVC garden arm chairs.
Linen: Full length dark green table cloths to fit all round table sizes Ivory and dark green square over cloths.
Tableware: Plain white china, stainless steel cutlery. Full range of classic shape glassware. Wrought iron candle sticks, tall metal cylinder vases.

TRADING TERMS & CONDITIONS

Valid from 1st April 2007 to 31st March 2008

·        A venue fee of $4,500.00 is charged for the use of Thorn Park Country House. This includes all accommodation for Friday & Saturday nights, (or Saturday & Sunday nights, on a bed and breakfast basis. Please note: Maximum of twelve houseguests staying, with no room changeovers. Additional guests or changeover with incur a further charge

·        A non-refundable deposit of $750.00 is payable at time of booking and a booking is not considered confirmed until payment has been made.

·        A further $1,500.00 is payable 28 days before the event.

·        We hold the proposed date for 14 days from the date given at time of booking. If the booking has not been confirmed by this time we will consider the date not to be required.
 

QUALITY FOOD AND SERVICE

·        Confirmation of the final number of guests is required 14 days prior to the event.

·        The account balance is due and payable, by cheque, at the completion of the event. Payment by credit card may incur a service charge

·        The cost of food quoted is per person. Whilst we endeavor to keep quoted prices firm, receptions and functions booked more than six months in advance are subject to change and or availability and will be re-confirmed closer to the event.

·        Wine and beverage prices and availability are subject to confirmation by us 30 days prior to a function.

·        You are welcome to provide your own beverages. We charge a flat corkage of $12.50 per person, (not per bottle), for this arrangement.

·        All staff costs are included in the quotation for the first four hours of the function, after that time they are charged out by the hour or part hour. Should you decide to extend the celebration beyond 4 hours, all of the staff remaining will be charged out at $25.00 per hour or part hour.

·        Thorn Park will provide all glassware, china & cutlery. The tables are round and will seat eight to ten guests; trestles can be hired if required. We have 100 chairs; any extra would also need to be hired. Our tablecloths are full length & dark green and we can provide square cream over cloths. We are able to hire white, ivory and other coloured cloths if required.

·        All breakages and damages to property, caused by your guests, will be charged to you at replacement cost.

·        Table and room decorations are at client’s own cost. We can provide tall green metal cylinder vases, round glass rose bowls or metal flower buckets. You are welcome to provide your own flowers and other decorations or contract the local florists to provide them at an extra charge.

·        For weddings and functions over 90 guests, it may be necessary to hire a marquee and dance floor.

·         Please note that all prices and services quoted in this document are done under the present Australian Government Taxation laws, include Goods and Service Tax as presently understood, but are subject to any change in government taxation policy.
